Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dave and Diego have been absolutely wonderful for us! Once we got the keys to our new place, my partner and I got to work tearing out the sad old carpet and revealing some incredibly tired floorboards. We had just a week from when we finishing tearing out the carpets to when we needed to move in, but any stress we had about not getting the floors done before then was unfounded as Dave and Diego worked miracles. I’d been in contact with Dave a couple weeks earlier while shopping around for quotes, and when I got back to him they managed to not only schedule us in at incredibly late notice, but they also managed to finish all our floors in just three days, accompanied with advice for floor care while we moved in as they were still curing, and instructions for long term care.

As you can see, their work completely transformed the space. They were lovely and easy to communicate with and did excellent work, and all was very well priced and affordable compared to other quotes we received, and I’d be more than happy to recommend them.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent experience with David and Diego. They were flexible and able to come on short notice. Very happy with the finish- the job included a lot of tricky old boards which I was very hapoy with the attention to detail on the gap filling, the reclaimed boards sourced, custom staining of new board to match.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dave and Diego did an amazing job with the floors. Really friendly and professional team, and gave great advice. The team went above and beyond, I would definitely recommend them. Gaps between boards were filled well, screws well hidden, short boards replaced, and they were very helpful with picking final finish.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Diego and team did a terrific job on my floors, both with insulation, sanding and finishing. The quote and payment process with Dave was very easy and more to the point accurate. They were also a really nice team of people. I would highly recommend them for work with wooden floors. They did what they said they would, for the agreed price and in the agreed timescale. Thank you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does floor sanding cost in Wood Green?

There’s no single price, because it depends on the room size, the type and condition of the timber, whether any boards need repair or gap filling, and the finish you choose. A single rental flat room off Turnpike Lane is a very different job from a full Victorian house in Noel Park. We assess the floor first, then give you a clear, no-obligation quote so you know exactly what’s included before any work starts.

Can you restore the original Victorian pine and oak floorboards common in Wood Green?

Usually, yes. Many of the heritage and Victorian homes around Noel Park and Lymington Avenue have original pine or oak boards, which sand up beautifully. Pine is softer and often thinner than oak, so it needs a lighter, more careful approach. We check the board thickness and condition first, repair or replace any that are split or badly worn, and can fill the gaps between boards that are common in older homes and let in draughts.

My home is in the Noel Park conservation area — does that affect the work?

For most floor sanding it doesn’t, since refinishing existing internal boards is generally straightforward and conservation-area rules mainly cover external changes rather than interior floors. If your property is also listed, altering original floors can carry consent conditions, so it’s worth checking first. Our approach with period homes is to keep and restore the original timber wherever possible, preserving the character of the floor.

I'm a landlord — which finish lasts best between tenancies?

For rentals, a hard-wearing lacquer is usually the sensible choice, as it stands up to heavy footfall and is easy to clean when tenants change. Oils and hard-wax oils look more natural and can be patch-repaired locally, but they need occasional re-oiling. We work with landlords and letting agents across Wood Green, so we can advise on the most practical option for a let property and plan around a void period.

Is the sanding process really dust-free?

We use dust-extraction equipment that captures most of the dust at source, which keeps the working conditions dust-controlled and far cleaner than older sanding methods. No process removes every particle, but the reduction in mess is significant, which matters in an occupied family home, a rental being turned around, or a shop along the High Road.
