Dave and Diego have been absolutely wonderful for us! Once we got the keys to our new place, my partner and I got to work tearing out the sad old carpet and revealing some incredibly tired floorboards. We had just a week from when we finishing tearing out the carpets to when we needed to move in, but any stress we had about not getting the floors done before then was unfounded as Dave and Diego worked miracles. I’d been in contact with Dave a couple weeks earlier while shopping around for quotes, and when I got back to him they managed to not only schedule us in at incredibly late notice, but they also managed to finish all our floors in just three days, accompanied with advice for floor care while we moved in as they were still curing, and instructions for long term care. As you can see, their work completely transformed the space. They were lovely and easy to communicate with and did excellent work, and all was very well priced and affordable compared to other quotes we received, and I’d be more than happy to recommend them.

Excellent experience with David and Diego. They were flexible and able to come on short notice. Very happy with the finish- the job included a lot of tricky old boards which I was very hapoy with the attention to detail on the gap filling, the reclaimed boards sourced, custom staining of new board to match.

Dave and Diego did an amazing job with the floors. Really friendly and professional team, and gave great advice. The team went above and beyond, I would definitely recommend them. Gaps between boards were filled well, screws well hidden, short boards replaced, and they were very helpful with picking final finish.

Diego and team did a terrific job on my floors, both with insulation, sanding and finishing. The quote and payment process with Dave was very easy and more to the point accurate. They were also a really nice team of people. I would highly recommend them for work with wooden floors. They did what they said they would, for the agreed price and in the agreed timescale. Thank you.

This is the second set of floors I have done with Diego and David. The work is extremely high quality, reasonably priced, and they are a pleasure to work with. Glad they exist!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does floor sanding cost in Ealing?
There’s no single price, because it depends on the room size, the type and condition of the timber, whether any boards need repair or gap filling, and the finish you choose. A single flat bedroom near Ealing Broadway is a very different job from a full 1930s family home in Northfields. We assess the floor first, then give you a clear, no-obligation quote so you know exactly what’s included before any work starts.
DIY can look cheaper up front, but once you’ve hired a sander and edger and bought abrasives and finish, the saving often shrinks — and an uneven sand, chatter marks or over-sanding can be costly to put right. A professional job brings the right graded abrasives, dust extraction and finishing experience, and it’s usually done faster with a more even result. For a hallway or spare room some people are happy to try it themselves; for main rooms, period boards or anything you want to last, it’s generally worth having it done properly.
Yes. Many Ealing homes have parquet or solid hardwood boards from the 1920s and 30s, both of which usually sand up very well. Parquet needs a careful approach because the blocks run in different directions and can work loose over time — we re-fix loose blocks, replace missing ones where we can match them, then sand and finish so the pattern reads cleanly. Solid hardwood boards can generally be sanded and refinished several times over their life.
For most floor sanding it doesn’t, since refinishing existing internal boards is generally straightforward and conservation-area rules mainly cover external changes rather than interior floors. If your property is also listed, altering original floors can carry consent conditions, so it’s worth checking first. Our approach with period floors is to keep and restore the original timber wherever possible, which suits the character homes around St Mary’s Road and The Grove.
We use dust-extraction equipment that captures most of the dust at source, which keeps the working conditions dust-controlled and far cleaner than older sanding methods. No process removes every particle, but the reduction in mess is significant, which matters in an occupied family home or a let property being turned around between tenants.
